GENEVIÈVE MERCILLE
Geneviève is a nutritionist, Associate Professor in the Department of Nutrition and researcher at the Centre de recherche en santé publique (CReSP). Driven by her commitment to food equity, her research is carried out in close collaboration with a large number of partners on issues of food insecurity, access to healthy food for vulnerable populations in Quebec, and sustainable and equitable local food systems. In addition to the Manger avec un budget serré (Eating on a Tight Budget) study funded by the Direction régionale de santé publique de Montréal (DRSPM) in 2020-2023, she also carried out the evaluation of the food security intervention program called Carte Proximité – fermière et solidaire for the 2021 season. She is also co-director of the Pathways study, a prospective cohort study of 1,001 new food-aid users in Quebec, funded by CIHR, and a researcher in the Food, Environment, Health and Nutrition of First Nations Children and Youth (FEHNCY) study, a large-scale study of the health of First Nations children and youth in Canada.
