Ivana is currently completing her second and final public health internship at CIENS as part of her bachelor’s degree in nutrition. Her placement focuses on the Utz k’aslemal project, which examines the dynamics of agroecology implementation and its role in the prevention of non-communicable diseases in Guatemala. The objective of her internship is to analyze qualitative data collected during participatory research workshops with Guatemalan farmers in order to support the advocacy efforts of various farmer associations.
Over the course of her four years of study, she has developed a strong interest in international nutrition, notably through a three-month international cooperation trip to Senegal as well as a one-month internship in clinical nutrition in Benin. For her future career, she would like to pursue studies in international public health nutrition, pediatrics, or sports nutrition. In addition to nutrition, she is also passionate about sports, outdoor activities, cooking, and travel. |
