Currently a fourth-year bachelor’s student in nutrition at the Université de Montréal, I am completing my final public health nutrition internship with the Canada Research Chair in Nutrition and Health Inequalities (CIENS). My role involves developing knowledge-translation activities related to nutrition for children, youth, and members of Indigenous communities. This set of workshops will support the Santé à bord project, a mobile clinic-laboratory designed to reach communities in remote regions.
I am particularly interested in how health determinants influence eating habits, especially within vulnerable populations such as Indigenous communities. Because the issues specific to these communities were only briefly addressed during my studies, I chose this internship in order to explore this dimension of public health nutrition in greater depth. |
