ALOK HERATH
Alok is a master's student by thesis in the nutrition programme at the Université de Montréal under the supervision of Professor Malek Batal. He received his bachelor’s degree at the University of Toronto in 2019 with a double major in Global Health and Political Science. During his master's, he aims to explore the linkages between health outcomes and agroecology, applying an economic analysis.
In addition to his academic work, Alok serves as the Government Strategic Initiatives Lead at AlayaCare, a Canadian health tech company specializing in aged care. In this role, he works on addressing government challenges related to the efficient administration and delivery of home care across Canada.
Alok is Sri Lankan by origin and has lived in 6 countries thus far. He is a dedicated language learner, speaking 4 languages at an upper-intermediate/advanced level. In his spare time, he is a dedicated rock/ice/alpine climber.
